Singapore Puzzle Hunt
Puzzle Philosophy
A good puzzle is fair. The leap it asks for is one a careful solver can make, and the answer is something you can be sure of once you have it.
We write for people who enjoy being stuck, and then unstuck. The pleasure is in the click: a grid that suddenly reads, a phrase that was hiding in plain sight, a connection you almost talked yourself out of. Difficulty is welcome. Ambiguity that cannot be resolved is not.
About the puzzles
Each hunt is a set of puzzles solved together by a team. Every puzzle hides a short answer. There is no required order, so a team can split up, trade notes, and come back to the one that has been glaring at them since lunch.
The shape of the event follows the MIT Mystery Hunt: many puzzles, a shared goal, and a stretch of time spent arguing productively. Ours stays small on purpose. Writers know the people they are writing for, and teams are not competing against a thousand strangers.
Since 2015
Singapore Puzzle Hunt has been organised each year for teams of local solvers. Past hunts live in the archive, each with its own theme. The next one is announced to people on the mailing list — you can join it from the home page.
