Singapore Puzzle Hunt
How a hunt is played
- Solve as a team. Pass notes, divide the work, and reconvene when something clicks.
- Each puzzle has one answer, usually a word or a short phrase. Submit it when you are ready.
- You may use books, the web, and the tools listed on the resources page. Looking things up is part of puzzling.
- People who are not on your team are not a resource. Do not ask them for help while the hunt is open.
- Do not publish solutions, hints, or answers until the hunt has closed and the epilogue is up.
- Do not script guesses against the answer checker. If you are guessing, you are not done extracting.
- Be kind to other teams and to the writers. A small hunt only works if everyone leaves it glad they came.
Answers
Unless a puzzle says otherwise, ignore spaces, punctuation, and capitalisation. “TRUE NORTH” and “truenorth” are the same answer. If the checker disagrees with you, read the puzzle again before you read the checker as broken.
When something is wrong
Errata, if any, are announced to every team at the same time. If you think you have found one, write to the organisers rather than spreading a theory in public.
