After the hunt

This page stays quiet while a hunt is open. Solutions, favourite wrong turns, and the story of the weekend belong here only once every team has had its chance.

When the epilogue is published, it collects three things: the answers, a few notes from the writers on what they hoped you would feel, and thanks to the testers who caught the puzzles that were not yet fair. It does not rank teams. A small hunt is not a leaderboard.

Talking about puzzles

Until that note is up, please keep solutions off public channels. A teammate who is still working deserves the same unbroken puzzle you had on Saturday morning. After the epilogue, talk as much as you like — the archive is more useful when people say which puzzle taught them something.

If you want to write a solution yourself, send it to the organisers. The best ones get linked from that year’s page in the archive.
